Hi! I’m Amy Hutchins, a NYC-based, classically-trained actor with over twenty-five years of stage experience.

As a voiceover artist, I love embodying a wide variety of badass heroes and heroines of all genders and backgrounds. Within my audiobook narrations (as Amelia Hugh), I’ve played everything from grumpy Italian detectives to young adult Fantasy heroes to time-traveling romantics. For over 250 episodes, I have played Dr. Monica Anders in the most downloaded family audio drama podcast in history ("Six Minutes").

In addition to being an actor, I am also an accent and language nerd. I love performing in language-based plays, most notably gender-bending Shakespeare. I especially geek out when I need to learn a new dialect for a role.

I'm fluent in Spanish and I have a knack for picking up languages. I find that being able to talk to people across cultures opens up a world without barriers. I bring that spirit to my acting by voicing characters with a variety of languages and accents (Polish, Welsh, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, and Amharic, among others). Give me an accent, and I can learn it in 24 hours. Give me a language, and I’ll be conversational in a month.

Whether immersing myself in a play, audiobook, or foreign culture, I love the practice of putting myself in other people's shoes. At the heart of all of these is the human experience.

When I'm not on stage or in the booth, I enjoy cuddling with my Sphynx cats (Rye and Celia), cooking, and traveling.

Here are some photos of me doing what I love most: acting/singing, gender-bending Shakespeare, and voice acting in my home studio.
